Review guidelines
What a review on HiDental is, what it must not be, and what happens to it.
Write about your own visit
- Review a practice only if you, or someone in your care, were a patient there or dealt with it as a patient would.
- Say what happened: getting an appointment, the wait, how things were explained, the front desk, the bill.
- One review per practice. You can change yours at any time.
What is not allowed
- Reviews by a practice's owners, staff, their families, or competitors, and reviews written in exchange for payment, a discount or a gift.
- Another person's private or health information. Think before sharing your own: a review is public.
- Accusations of crimes or of professional misconduct. Those belong with the Dental Board of California or the police, who can look into them.
- Insults, threats, hate speech, advertising, or anything not about the practice.
Photos
- You can add up to three photos to a review: the office, the waiting room, a bill with your personal details covered, your own smile if you want to.
- No other people's faces, and no names, addresses, dates of birth, insurance or account numbers. Nothing indecent or violent.
- Photos are made smaller and everything but the picture is removed before they are kept: where and when they were taken, and the camera. They are shown only with a published review, and HiDental can take a single photo off.
What happens to a review
- Every review is read by HiDental before it is shown. Only a published review counts toward a practice's rating.
- An AI reads each review first and points out what may break these guidelines. A person at HiDental makes every decision.
- We publish reviews that follow these guidelines whether they are favourable or not. We do not edit them.
- A practice cannot remove or hide a review, and being featured or a paying customer of HiDental changes nothing about its reviews.
- Anyone can report a published review. We look at it and either keep it or take it down.
- A rating is the opinion of the people who wrote the reviews. It is not HiDental's judgement of a practice's clinical quality.
For practices
A practice can answer each review once, in public, from its workspace. The answer is read by HiDental before it appears under the review, and changing it sends it to be read again. A practice must not reveal anything about a patient when responding to a review anywhere, including whether the person is a patient: no visit dates, treatment, records or bills. Answers that do are not published. To tell us a review breaks these guidelines, use the Report link beside it or write to [email protected].
