How Search works
What you see when you search HiDental, where it comes from, and what decides the order.
What is searched
Every word you type must be found in an office's name, street, city, ZIP code or description. "Glendale", "91202" and "Brand Blvd" all work, alone or together.
The order of results
- When your location is known, nearest first.
- Otherwise, and between offices at the same distance, by name.
- You can change the order to best rated or by name, and narrow the list to offices that are open now, rated four stars and up, taking requests online, or managed by the practice.
- Nobody can pay to appear higher. Featured practices are shown in their own labelled row on the home page and nowhere in the results.
- Ratings change a result's place only when you choose the best rated order yourself.
Where the listings come from
- Basic listing. Taken from public records: the federal NPI registry of healthcare providers, or the practice's own public website. It shows the name, address, phone and the kind of dentistry the office registered, and has not been confirmed by the practice.
- Managed by the practice. The practice has claimed the listing and keeps it up to date. Services, hours, languages and insurance are what the practice declares.
Filters for service, language and insurance find only practices that have declared them, so a basic listing never matches those filters. Insurance shown is declared by the practice and is not confirmation of your own coverage.
Ratings and reviews
Anyone can sign in with an email address and review a practice they have visited. Each review is read by HiDental before it is shown, and the stars beside a practice are the average of its published reviews. A practice cannot remove a review, and being featured or a customer of HiDental changes nothing about them. See the review guidelines.
Your location
The home page can show offices near you. Your area is estimated from your internet connection, to about the level of a city, used for that one page and not saved. "Near me" asks your browser for a more exact position only when you press it. You can switch the nearby list off in Settings.
Something wrong?
If you own or work at a practice, open its listing and choose "Claim it" to correct it yourself. Anyone can open a listing and choose "Report a problem" to say it is wrong or out of date, or to ask for it to be removed. No account is needed. You can also write to [email protected].
